Winners in Sarge's Animal Rescue Foundation's Pet Photo Contest received their prizes on Saturday, March 8, at the WNC Visitors' Center. First places winners received gift-filled tote bags monogrammed with Sarge's logo by Laura Wooley of Smoky Mountain Logos.
"There were almost 150 entries this year," said event coordinator Karen Moro-Coleman, "and over half were in the Dog category." Moro-Coleman continued, "All of the photos were wonderful and it was hard for our judges to pick just one winner from each category."
The judges were Ray Rouser of Ray Rouser Photography; John Roten, Program Director and Morning Show host at am1400thepeak; and Eric Larsen, President and CEO of Stellar Media.
"Sarge's is grateful not only to the people who entered the contest," said Moro-Coleman, " but also to our supporters in the community who contributed to the contest with prizes for the tote bags, media support, registration and judging." Those supporters are The Dog House, Happy Tails Dog Grooming/School, Country Lane Animal Hospital, Canton Animal Hospital, Animal Hospital of Waynesville, Creature Comforts, Nancy Bulluck, The Mountaineer, Haywood County News, Smoky Mountain News, WNC Visitors Center, Mountain Dreams Realty, Maggie Valley Club, John Roten, Eric Larsen, Ray Rouser and Laura Wooley.
