Sarge's Sponsors Giving Trees for Foster Animals
Press Release 12/07/09
Cynthia Morris
Three local businesses have agreed to have gift trees available during the holidays at their locations for Sarge's Animal Rescue Foundation's foster animals.
Trees will be located at The Dog House, 304 N. Haywood Street in Waynesville; Canton Animal Hospital , 74 Radio Hill Road in Canton and Bocelli's Italian Eatery, 319 N. Haywood Street in Waynesville. There will also be a tree at Sarge's headquarters at 1659 S. Main Street in West Waynesville.
"The small trees have gift tags for items that our foster animals need throughout the year," said Kristin Moro-Colman, Board Member and coordinator. "After the person picks a tag and purchases the gift, it can be taken to Sarge's office or left at the location where they picked the tag."
"The inexpensive items on the gift tree are welcomed by the foster families and we use them at adoptions and when transporting animals to breed rescue groups. The items don't seem like much individually but we need so many of each that it would be a great expense for Sarge's to purchase them all. I can't tell you how much this means to our animals safety, happiness and care."

Examples of tree tag gifts are paper towels, leashes, collars, blankets, towels, donations, gas cards, dog and cat food and cat litter. If needed, these items will also be made available to the Haywood County Animal Shelter.
"We hope you'll take a look at our trees when you're in the Dog House, Bocelli's or Canton Animal Hospital to see if you can help to make a difference in the comfort of the lives of the dogs and cats rescued from the Haywood County shelter. Someone will be at Sarge's office Monday-Friday from 11:00a.m. - 3:00p.m. and on Saturdays during adoptions from 10:00a.m. - 3:00p.m.," continued Moro-Coleman.
