Seven year old Belle Crouse hosted a "Night in Tuscany" dinner party and silent auction at her home on Thursday, August 6, which resulted in a $522 donation to Sarge's Animal Rescue Foundation. With some help from her mother, Courtney, Belle sent invitations, planned and posted the menu, and assisted with the cooking. Belle and her friend Gabriella Cruz served dinner for 13 adults and presented a dessert tray. "There was no set price for dinner, but our guests each made a donation," said Dan Crouse, Belle's father.

Belle had 8 of her own drawings in the silent auction. "The original plan was to start the bidding of each drawing at $1 but one of our guests thought that $10 would be a good starting point," said Crouse, "so each drawing sold for at least $10."

Belle, who is entering second grade this year at Central Elementary, said, "I first heard about Sarge's when I went to the Dog Walk last year. I just got a Westie puppy named Frances to walk in this year's Dog Walk and I thought it would be fun to raise money for Sarge's too."

Belle was recognized during the Dog Walk festivities as one of the top four people who collected the most partner money to donate to Sarge's. "I would like to thank our friends and members of Life Church of Waynesville for coming to my dinner and making the donations. The people who attended were Tom Jones, Amanda and Jovan Adorno, Carol and Dan Vinton, Paul and Debbie Hensley, Ruth Plott, Joe and Tracey Cruz, Brandon Hinton, Steve and Debbie Hall, Danny and Kathy Green, Carla Wood, Bonnie Hall, Walt and Sindi Pafford, Darian Gregory, Bobbie Clark, Timothy Wallis and Pete Demick."
