Sarge's Animal Rescue Foundation is now accepting pet photographs for its 3rd annual Pet Photography contest. Photos must be received no later than Friday, May 8. The judging will be Monday, May 11and the awards ceremony will be held at Sarge's headquarters at 1659 S. Main Street in Waynesville on Saturday, May 16. Only amateur photographers cab be considered for prizes.
Contest judges will be John Roten, Program Director and host of The Morning Show on am1400thepeak and Beth Brown of Beth Brown Photography in Maggie Valley.
"I am looking forward to seeing the photos that are submitted. I'm sure they will reflect the special relationships that people have with their pets," said Brown. "I am a big supporter of Sarge's mission and am happy to be able to participate as a judge in the contest."
Categories for the contest are: Cats, Kittens, Dogs, Puppies, "Other" Pets, Sarge Alumni and Photographers under 12 years of age. Creative photos of pets playing, napping, being silly or just being themselves are welcome.
"There were so many cute photos last year," said Roten. "Some were artistic and all were so special it was difficult to pick just two in each category."
There is no limit on the number of photos submitted but each photo must be accompanied by an entry form and a $10 registration fee. Due to Sarge's limited printing capability, no photos can be accepted by email. Sarge's will also not be able to return photographs. The photos will be displayed at the awards ceremony at Sarge's headquarters.
