Buy a cookie (s) or bubble pack of cookies from Subway on Valentine's Day, Saturday February 14, and Sarge's Animal Rescue Foundation will receive a portion of the proceeds from the sales.
Participating Subways are located at 297 Paragon Parkway next to Food Lion in Clyde and Super WalMart on S. Main Street in Waynesville.
Cookies offered are double chocolate, peanut butter, white chocolate with macadamia nuts, oatmeal raisin and chocolate chips cookies.
Michelle Rossback, Manager of the two Subways conceived the idea of donating money to benefit Sarge's. "I love animals, especially cats, "said Rossback. "I was very excited to hear of Sarge's Senior Cats for Senior Citizens program. The idea of senior citizens adopting an older cat for companionship with no fee and the often less-adopted senior cats finding a home is a wonderful idea. I wanted Subway to find a way to help fund programs such as this."
