Sarge is on eBay
by Cynthia Morris
Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation has been approved by the eBay Giving Works program as a non-profit that is eligible to receive donations from the sale of items on its site.
When listing an item to sell on eBay, there is a space on the “Sell Your Items” form to choose Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation as a nonprofit and the percentage of the sale that is designated for Sarge’s. Just 2 additional clicks and local eBay sellers can make a donation to Sarge and help to save healthy, adoptable animals from the Haywood County animal shelter. After the listing ends and payment is made, MissionFish, the charitable arm of eBay, collects the resulting donation from the seller and then forwards the gift (minus a small deduction to cover processing costs).
Since the MissionFish approval of Sarge’s in the eBay Giving Works program, Joanne Gregory has set up an eBay account for Sarge to sell online items from its booth at Balsam Antiques Mall . To access this account, click on eBay’s Community link. In the box adjacent to Find a Member, type “litterboxhome.” Gregory said, “The listing has the SARF logo and mission statement prominently displayed so that persons who are considering bidding on our items will see that 100% of the purchase price goes directly to Sarge.” eBay also donates the listing fee and final value fee when the item sells.
