"Thank YOU for saving this boy! I'm giving him his forever home, but it was your organization who actually SAVED him, and kept him safe till it was time for me to find him. I truly believe he was meant for me, and that's why he hadn't been adopted."..."Well.... As much as I loved the name Purridot, it just wasn'...t fitting this kitten. I admit being disappointed, but no use calling him something that he isn't... LOL. Last night a friend's boss suggested Malachi... I had considered malachite but it seemed too much for a little boy. Once I got home, I called out "Where are you boys? Gemini, Malachi!" (How easily the words flow, one after the other!) And both boys came out around the corner. :-) Today, I went for some errands, came home and snuck down the hall. Both boys were on my bed, tail to tail, about 5 - 6 inches apart. It is going SO well, and so FAST! They now chase each other thru the house, and are enjoying each others company. I can't wait to share this picture with you. I took it on Wednesday. Isn't it just uncanny? ;-D"
Update 02/22/11: "Writing to tell you about Our boy... ;-D
First -- I sent several premature announcements of his name... NONE of them worked! There must have been 10 "pretty sure" names... My sister was upset I didn't name him Purridot, but as much as "I" loved it -- it just didn't work for him. My sis visited over the weekend, and she agreed... He's not Purridot, Malachi, Chino, Caspurr, Sterling ... or any other ones (She also stated Saturday, that she CANNOT BELIEVE how well these 2 boys get along, in so short a time!)
So the other morning I was petting him, he was against my stomach, purring, and stretching, and ... I said to him: "you're a picture of pure bliss..." And there it was! "Bliss" .. He's a very happy boy, and he has certainly brought some bliss back into my life, after TOO much loss!.
I can say Bliss, not even very loud, and he looks up at me. Very cool.
Presently, as I type, I am having to sit sideways, as he is taking up my entire lap! Linda, you told me that his foster mom said he isn't a lap cat. Well, HE's telling me otherwise! LOL Of course it's only when HE chooses and I mustn't restrain him, though petting and scratching are desired! Very sweet, also!
He gets along well with Gemini. The other night on the couch, I witnessed Bliss grooming Gem's face and neck, as Gem moved his head for proper access! I had tears in my eyes... :*)
Thanks to his foster mom (Helen?), he is WONDERFUL about using (only) the scratching post, and (USUALLY) doesn't use his claws on me when we play.
We still argue about his getting up on the kitchen counter, and he habitually walks JUST BARELY INFRONT of my feet when I am walking. Not sure how to convince him to NOT to walk there. LOL
PLAY! Oh my goodness, is he ever GREAT with playing fetch! He frequently holds mousie in his mouth, till I reach down -- he drops it in my hand! He is just AMAZING!
lol Typing one handed now, as he's presently thoroughly-grooming my left palm... Ummm... yeah.... I think I'll keep him! {wink}"
