Mac is a Scottish Terrier who became deaf due to untreated ear infections. As you can see,
that doesn't stop him from being a wonderful pet! He was adopted by Cynthia Sutherland and her husband Craig Crossman on 12/6/08.Cynthia wrote:
"Merlin loves having Mac around! And so do we! Mac has mastered all the stairs
around our house - except the spiral staircase. We're going to carpet those
so he can get up and down them. He has not mastered the electronic dog door
yet, although he has his own sensor. He sits in front of it and watches the
door go up and down. He probably thinks Merlin is a magician every time Merlin
jumps through the hole! He has met his new (North Carolina) vet. He has to go
back next week to get his teeth cleaned and have his blood checked so we can
start him on heart worm medicine. She gave us some antibiotic powder for his
ears and said we can expect to have him on that pretty much the rest of his
life. He met his groomer last week for some fluffing and buffing. He has also
met our neighbors (who brought him more toys).
He has finally started running around inside the house a little - and playing -
Merlin forces him. He's only had one day of diarrhea - probably our fault
for feeding him roast beef from the table. We've learned our lesson. He
hasn't started running up and down the hill behind the house yet - like
crazy dog Merlin - but we're hopeful. He was very well-behaved on his trip
to PetSmart for his new wardrobe and ID tag. He never lets us out of his sight
for more than a few seconds - even sleeps with us in our bedroom." ...Cynthia Sutherland
